About Us

Columbus Electric Cooperative is a nonprofit, consumer-owned electric system established to provide electric service to rural southwestern New Mexico and southeastern Arizona.

Columbus Electric's governing Board of Directors meets on the fourth Thursday of each month; the annual meeting is held in March or April of each year.

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association

Tri-State Generation and Transmission Association is a wholesale electric power supplier owned by the 44 electric cooperatives that it serves. Tri-State generates and transports electricity to Columbus Electric Cooperative, Inc. and the rest of its member systems throughout a 250,000 square-mile service territory that covers Colorado, Nebraska, New Mexico and Wyoming. New Mexico Rural Electric Cooperative Association

The New Mexico Rural Electric Cooperative Association represents our state's electric cooperatives and their local consumers. They are a cooperative, directed by representatives of New Mexico's electric co-ops.

NMRECA's activities include legislative and regulatory representation, public affairs, and training.

NMRECA produces and distribute Enchantment Magazine, New Mexico's second largest publication and the only one dedicated to rural readers. Enchantment is mailed monthly to cooperative members in the state. To learn more, please visit the NMRECA website.
